AN – Access Network

a.k.a. Radio Access Network (RAN), Radio Network (RN)

Operator equipment that provides ATs with wireless access to a packet switched data network such as the Internet. The AN generally includes the base stations, BSC/RNC, and PCF elements in a particular serving area. Each HRPD access network is uniquely identified by an ANID.
