CLLI
From CDGWiki
CLLI – Common Language Location Identifier
An 11-character identifier that is used worldwide to identify and describe three types of locations:
- Network Sites – Locations such as central office buildings, business and commercial offices, and microwave radio structures and earth stations.
- Network Support Sites – Locations such as international boundaries or crossing points, end points, fiber nodes, cable and facility junctions, manholes, poles, and repeaters.
- Customer Sites – Customer locations and associated circuit terminations, facilities, or equipment for each specific customer.
A different CLLI format is used to describe each of these three locations. CLLI codes are built from Geographical, Geopolitical, Network Site, Network Entity, Network Support Site, and Customer Site code elements. The combination of code elements that comprise the CLLI is determined by type of location being described. For example, an MSC would be identified by a Network Site CLLI consisting of a 4-character Geographical code (e.g., DNVR for Denver), 2-character Geopolitical code (e.g., CO for Colorado), 2-character Network-Site code (e.g., 56 for Main Street), and 3-character Network Entity code (e.g., DS0 for digital switch). CLLI codes are assigned and maintained by Telecordia through a Common Language Central Location Online Entry System (CLONES) database.
