[edit] Description

The CRX task force has been resurrected in PaDIRT. For information on the task force progress, please go to this page.

[edit] Background

The CDMA Roaming Exchange (CRX) Specification was published in 2004 and several CRX providers including Aicent, Neustar, Syniverse, and Verisign were identified. At the December 2004 meeting of the CDG IRT, carriers raised the priority of the need to have CRX interconnection (bilateral or common point peering) operational as soon as possible. In response, the IRT assigned the CRX Peering Taskforce.

[edit] Goals

The goals of the taskforce include the following:

  • Define CRX interconnect options
  • Support initial interconnection
  • Propose short and long term interconnect strategy
  • Enable end-to-end CDMA data roaming testing across CRX providers
  • Assess viability and locations of CRX peering points
  • Define CRX interconnect schedule
  • Interoperability Testing schedule
  • Long term commercial CRX network interconnect schedule
  • Define the CRX interconnect testing plan
  • Achieve CRX Inter-connect and Inter-working
