As CDMA Location Based Services (LBS) services continue to be deployed and their popularity increases, the roaming capabilities of those services will become more critical. The CDG IRT has continued to provide a forum for LBS roaming discussion among operators for quite a while. However, while the IRT has made excellent progress in improving the state of CDMA voice and packet data roaming, there has not been sufficient discussion to address important LBS roaming issues. This initiative was launched to help advance the state of LBS roaming. Currently this work is outside the auspices of the IRT, but may be folded in at a later date.
