[edit] Next Meeting
Pending resolution of outstanding items mentioned in the notes below, the objectives of this taskforce have been met. There are currently no further meetings scheduled.
[edit] Notes from March IRT meeting in Cabo San Lucas
- Industry status of inter-carrier MMS was discussed
- CRX providers are each offering their own MMS hubbing services
- MMS hubbing services are currently peering with one another (e.g. Mobile365, Syniverse, Verisign, Aicent, etc...)
- Most carriers are using MMS hubs because they want more than simple transport (e.g. message auditing, address resolution, etc...)
- No driver to impose these additional capabilities onto the CRX itself
- Open issues:
- Document #94 will be updated to indicate that the CRX may be used to transport inter-carrier MMS traffic
- (update: proposed update to #94 was sent to reflector on March 27th)
- CDG-GSMNA inter-carrier guidelines draft will be distributed for review
- (update: Current draft posted at: CDG-GSMNA_MMS_Inter-carrier_Implementation_Guidelines)
- Status:
- Pending resolution of these two issues, MMS CAT objectives have been met
- Status was provided to IRT Plenary
- No further MMS CAT meetings are currently planned
- Email reflector will remain active as a venue for discussing inter-carrier MMS issues
